How to Clean a Leister TRIAC ST's Air Filter

Over the course of a project, your Leister TRIAC ST will be exposed to dust, debris and other particles that can clog up the heat guns air intake. To keep these contaminants out, the TRIAC ST comes equipped with air filters located on either side of the handle.

However, these will get clogged up over time and need to be cleaned out. Fortunately, Leister makes this easy and straightforward to do. Follow these three easy steps.

  1. Press your finger on the air filter and pull back towards the power cord. The air filter should slide off.
  2. Using compressed air, blow the debris off the filter. You can use water and a mild soap if necessary, just make sure the filter is completely dry before reinstalling it.
  3. Align the filter with the track on the heat gun, and push up toward the nozzle. The filter will click when locked in place.
